This Genealogy is based on the original research on the family commenced by my late cousin Jules de Coquereaumont, and the very extensive and recent research by my nephew Geoffrey Audcent who has had to make numerous corrections and additions from original french sources. Interestingly we have now found the link for the liaison with the DYEL family of Normandie - thanks to Geneweb, this Genealogy follows after. I place here the limited knowledge I have of the family d'Estrepagny, with the hope that it will encourage others to pass on the information in their possession for the benefit of descendants generally. I am concerned that so many Genealogy web-pages restrict their knowledge to display their own direct lines, and in many cases you have to find the information person by person. I do encourage those interested in Genealogy to be more open and to make their information more accessible.

Francois 'Claude' D'ETREPAGNY, Procureur du Roi at Arques, ennobled in September 1589 m. Anne DUVAL and of this marriage had issue:-

Jean (1st of name )D'ETREPAGNY Seigneur de Mesnil-Rabout (within the parish of Martigny) and de Beaumets (Beaumais nr Martigny) m. 1590 Marie DE MONTPELLAY (parentage unconfirmed but this family were Seigneurs de Martigny) and of this marriage had issue which follows - the family d'estrepagny were to have numerous other connections with the de montpellay family in the coming years - On his wife's death he is known to have remarried 2nd Marthe Beaudouin, by whom he apparently had a daughter, name unknown:-
- Robert D'ETREPAGNY Sieur de la Graverie m. Helen BOUCHARD and had issue of:-
  - Anne D'ETREPAGNY d. after 1694 m. Nicolas DU BOSC, d. c1667/8 Ecuyer, Seigneur d'Angiens, the son of Martin and Barbe des Champs. Residents of Dieppe and maintained in their nobility on the 13/3/1667. By the next year 1668, Anne was a widow and held interest in land at Blequencourt, Ivry-leTemple (Oise). In 1694 Anne resided at Beaumais occupying one house and 30 acres of land.
- Jean D'ETREPAGNY (2nd of name), m. 1st in 1627 Catherine OSMONT of this marriage were born two known sons:-
  - Jean D'ETREPAGNY (3rd of name) b. 1628, he d. young
  - Louis 1st of name D'ETREPAGNY, Ecuyer, Seigneur de Mesnil-Rabout and St-Vandrille, b. 1630 d. before 1748, m. his cousin Marie Madeleine DE MONTPELLE alias MONTPELLAY b. in 1660's d. after 1746 dtr of Charles, Ecuyer, Sieur de Martigny, Brequigny et Etran, Seigneur de Martigny and his wife Marie Marthe Heuste., and Granddtr of Jean, Sergent Major at Dieppe, m. Catherine Bouchard. Louis and his wife resided at Martigny in 1695. Of their marriage they had issue:-
    - Magdeleine DESTREPAGNY b c1667 bur 24/5/1727 Martigny, would appear unmarried.
    - Louis 2nd of name D'ESTREPAGNY b c1668 d. before 1728, Ecuyer, Sgr du Mesnil, de St Vandrille, and other lands, m. 21/3/1696 Martigny, Marguerite LAMBERT b c1677 dtr of N Lambert and his wife Jeanne Pannier of this marriage issued:-
      - Louis 3rd of name DESTREPAGNY bap 22/5/1697 Martigny, having for Godparents, Charles de Roussel, Ecuyer, Sr de Duaqueville and dame Anne Destrepagny. He appears to have died with no issue, as his younger brother Charles inherited
      - Charles D'ETREPAGNY, b. 23/10/1698 bap 29/10/1698 Martigny having for Godparents, Charles de Groulard, Ecuyer, Sr de Torcy and delle Marie Anne de Groularde, Ecuyer, Seigneur de Martigny, du Mesnil Rabout, St Vandrille, le Plessis, Moulinos and Biville, d. 1/12/1749 Martigny bur next day, in 1739 Charles referred to as M. du Mesnil Rabout was present at the burial of his uncle Leon in Martigny. He m. c1728 Francoise Marie Marthe DYEL DE GOURNAY b c1710 d. 31/3/1745 Martigny and bur next day, sister of Francois Louis DYEL DE VAUDROQUE (1708-1768) dtr of Louis and his 2nd wife Francoise Duval, and granddtr of Adrien (1605-1662) Seigneur de Vaudroque and de Gournay and his wife Anne Le Moine.         Louis Charles D'ETREPAGNY, b. 8/4/1729 bap 20/4/1729 Martigny having for Godparents Jean de Jardin and Marie Marguerite Prevost, d. 1/12/1790 bur 3 days later Martigny, Chevalier, Seigneur du Mesnil-Rabout, St Vaudril Biville, and seigneur and Patron honoraire de Martignie de Boissy, and Seigneur de Lamberville m. 21/4/1757 Martigny, after nearly two years of objection, Marie Anne Angelique Francoise VAIN b. 30/5/1739 Martigny having for Godparents Jean Bimond and Marie Madellainne de Neuville, the eldest child of the five known children of Jacques 'Nicolas' (c1716-d.1758 - a tenant farmer and himself the son of Nicolas Vain who had m. 16/8/1713 Rouxmesnil nr Dieppe, Anne Gaillon ) m. 3/2/1738 Arques, Angelique Bimont (b & bap 13/4/1711 Martigny, d. 2/9/1743 aged 31 bur Martigny (dtr of Jacques d. bef 1729 who had m. before Oct 1698, Angelique Monet and they had issue of 8 known children). His uncles Louis Robert Detrepagni cure parish of Normanville and Francois Louis Dyel de Vaudroque objected to the marriage, but judgement in favour of their nephew was reached on the 5/2/1757 by the Cour du Parlement at Rouen. On his death he left his wife a widow who was to survive him by 24 years, she died in her home at Martigny on the 11/1/1814, her death registered by her two sons, Louis Alexandre, and Jacques Charles, and by her son-in-law Yves Joseph de St Ouen d'Ernemont. Of this marriage the following children:-

In Nov 1832, Angelique was living on her means in the commune of Heudreville sur Eure. (DE GRAVERON - 18163. - (ARTOIS et NORMANDIE). - De gue d une fasce d'or, surmontée d'une branche d'arbre du mesme posée en fasce) - of this marriage there was issue, this family was known in 1391, and descend from Raoul Graveron, d. before 1527 m. Jeanne de Betencourt).-

She m. 28 March 1788 Martigny, Vicomte Yves Joseph DE ST OUEN D'ERNEMONT b. 13 August 1745, parish St Patrice, Rouen, Vicomte de St Ouen, Chevalier l'Ordre Royal et Militaire de St Louis. Seigneur et Patron de Notre Dame des Anthieux, Seigneur en parte de la prevote de Bellencombre, Patron et Chatelain de la Grande Heuze, Haut Justicier des Anthieux, Bellencombre, et St. Martin. Appointed sub-lieutenant in the Regiment of the Dauphin by King Louis XVI on 13 June 1774 at the Chateau de la Muette, and promoted by him on the 8th April 179 at Versailles to lieutenant. Later promoted to the rank of Captain of the same Regiment, he d. 28 May 1823 at his home Chateau de la Grande Heuze, nr Bellencombre (see Genealogy DE ST OUEN for details), and of the marriage they had issue of 5 children:-

        Louis Alexandre Constant D'ETREPAGNY b. 10/9/1764 Martigny, Cte de Lamberville, Officer in the Regiment of Bearn, Chevalier de St Louis, in 1790 under the command of Colonel, Vicomte de Boisgelin m. 9/11/1790 (Contact before Voisin at Dieppe, and Lavaudier at Aussy - dated 5 /11/1790) Emilie Marie Rose Honorine DE CADUSCH b. c1773 dtr of the late Charles Henri Marie de Cadusch and his wife Jeanne Emilie de Caumont. Of this marriage there was no issue. Shortly after his marriage he left the army and on the onset of the revolution left for England where he and his wife stayed with her uncle Auguste de Caumont in London returning in 1802 when his name was removed from the list of emigres and settled in the family Chateau at Martigny. From at least 1809 up to 1830 he was mayor of Martigny. He d. 20/9/1832 Martigny leaving no issue, his death being registered by his nephews, Bathelemy Edouard Auzanet, and Charles Eugene Gallye d'Hybouville. He left his wife a widow, and his Will directly left his belongings to his siblings and their children.

        Charles Francois D'ETREPAGNY b & bap 4/6/1766 Martigny, having for Godparents, Jacques Signard (laboureur) and Marie Anne Bule wife of Francois Gosselin (also laboureur) died without issue, after a careet in the army commissioned officier Regt de Bearn (same regiment as his brothers). In 1813 he was living in Martigny on his income, but by November 1832 he was recorded having moved to Paris, faubourg St Martin. We know nothing more of him.

        Jacques Charles Louis D'ETREPAGNY DE MARTIGNY, Chevalier de Martigny, b. c1768, once again entered the army as an officier in the Regt de Bearn. In 1814 he was a witness to the registration of death of his mother, and is recorded as living on his income.

        Henriette D'ETREPAGNY b. 31/12/1774, on her father's death in 1790 Louis Henri Jacques Chartier and Guillaume Bimont were appointed her guardians. She m. 22/9/1824 Martigny (1st Vendemaire Year 3 of the republic) Charles 'Gabriel' Francois GALLYE DE HYBOUVILLE , proprietor living at Hybourville, and of their marriage are known to have had issue of two children.

        Marie Madeleine Francoise DESTREPAGNY b. 23/9/1731 bap 26/10/1732 Martigny having for Godparents Leon Destrepagni and noble Suzanne Francoise de Louvraye.
        Charles Francois DETREPAGNY b 18/10/1732 bap 26/10/1732 Martigny having for Godparents Jacques Francois du Monpelle, chevalier, sgr et paron honoraire de Martigny and other lands, Chevalier of the Order St Louise, capt regt de Caverlie de Berry and dame Marie Adelaide Fervare d'Haucoute.
        Digne Douce D'ETREPAGNY b. 8/5/1734 bap 10/5/1734 Martigny having for Godparents, Louis Diel, Ecuyer, Sr du Maudasse and noble delle Marguerite d'Estrepagni, (these could be her paternal grandfather and his maternal grandmother - ? signatures) m. 29/11/1758 Martigny, Alexandre Contant DE CRENI b c1725, Ecuyer, Sgr de Nalcontre, Capt de Militia de la Battallion de Rouen, son of Adrien, Chevalier, Sgr de Beauregard and his wife Elizabeth de Bouchet of parish Marie Magdeleine de Greges. Godmother to her neice Marie Louise Digne Douce d'Etrepagny.
        Marie Bonne DE TREPAGNY bap 22/5/1736 Martigny having for Godparents Adrien Marie Alexandre Dial de Gourne, Ecuyer, Sr de Gourne, (who he is is unknown, but likely to be her uncle from his title Sr de Gourne) and noble Delle Bonne Elisabet de Trepagni (obviously d'Etrepagny) her aunt.
        Denise Coutton DESTREPAGNI bap 1738 (day and month unreadable) Martigny having for Godparents Thomas Julien and Anne Lemercier (both illiterate).
        Francois ? DESTREPAGNI b 1739 bap 1/2/1740 Martigny by Louis Charles Osmont de Mortimer cure de St Pierre d'Ouveville, having for Godparents Francois Osmont de Mortemer, Ecuyer, Sgr de Martemer and noble dame Anne ? Ricarville de Clermont.
        Bonne Charlotte DESTREPAGNI, bap 14/1/1742 Martigny having for Godparents, Claude Louis Destrepagni, Ecuyer, uncle, and noble delle Marie Magdeleine Destrepagny (either her aunt or great aunt).
        Marie Therese Adelaide DESTREPAGNY bap 10/3/1743 Martigny having for Godparents, Louis Charles Destrepagny, Ecuyer, and delle Marie Therese Lefebvre.
        
        Jacques Nicolas DESTREPAGNY b 26/5/1700 bap 30/5/1698 Martigny (error here - dba) , having for Godparents, Nicolas Senechal, Ecuyer, Sr de Savinal and dame Jeanne Pannier (his grandmother or possible maternal cousin) nothing more is known of him
        Louis Francois DESTREPAGNY b. 1/9/1701 bap 6th of that month Martigny having for Godparents, Francois de Groulard, Ecuyer, Sgr et patron de Torcy and other lands, and delle Francoise Florence Adrienne de Ricarville (nb the priest names his mother as Catherine and not Marguerite Lambert!).

    - Pierre BELAIN D'ESNAMBUC b. & bap 9/3/1585 St Quentin, Allouville, Seine Inferieure, Seigneur d'Esnambuc. Captain in the French marine, d. at St. Christopher in Dec., 1636. It is clear that he never married or had issue. He was the founder of the French colonies in the Antilles, and their first governor. Sailing from Dieppe, in 1625, on a brigantine of four guns with a crew of thirty-five men, he took possession of the island of St. Christopher. Returning to France in the following year he brought about the formation by Richelieu of the Company of the American Islands (Oct., 1626). At this time he was authorized to occupy St. Christopher and Barbadoes. Once established at St. Christopher he wished to make the influence of France felt throughout the Antilles, and for ten years directed all his energies to the accomplishment of this great work. Owing to his efforts, colonists were recruited throughout Lower Normandy, chiefly in the vicinity of Dieppe, Honfleur, and Havre-de-Grâce, and these established flourishing settlements in Guadeloupe, Dominica, Les Saintes, and Marie Galante. In September, 1635, d'Esnambuc recruited at St. Christopher one hundred and fifty determined men, and landing at Martinique, built in the following year the town of St.-Pierre. He died in the same year at St. Christopher, leaving to his nephews the government of the kingdom beyond the sea, which he had merely inaugurated. On hearing of his death Richelieu declared that the king and his realm had lost one of their best servants. The act of marriage witnessed by bride and groom, Gaillon, Pierre Vain, Francois Bimont, Jacques Vain, Louise Seury and others. Of their marriage they had known issue of a son:-

Following the marriage they settled in Martigny where in 1740 he occupied a farm of 50 acres, five years later this had grown to 55 acres. Following the death of Angelique on 2/9/1743 aged only 31, bur Martigny, he remarried and in 1747 is recorded as living in Martigny with his second wife, two children and four servants. He now owned about 100 acres, two farms, and woodland. In 1755 this had reduced to 60 acres plus 10 acres of woodland. Whilst Nicolas was literate Angelique was not and had to make her mark. Of their marriage they had issue of 5 known children:-
